April 2019 Updates
Keeping you informed of product updates and enhancements.
Highlights include: 1. Wildcard Searches, 2. Changing the People Search Type, and 3. Tag Searches: Contains vs Does Not Contain.
Did you know that you can run special searches for text profile fields? Asterisk (*) = Searches for everyone who has any data in this field. Exclamation Mark (!) = Searches for everyone who has no data in this field. So if you want to pull a list of everyone who does not have an email address, you just have to click on the Email field during an advanced search and type in '!'. Check out all of the other Different Wildcard Search Options
A question we hear a lot: How can we contact the parents of a group of kids? Running an advanced search will actually allow you to change your search results into different members of the family. After finding people you're looking for, simply click "Search Type" (under 'Other' toward the bottom) and change it from "Person" to "Parents", "Children", or "Family" and your results will change from the people populated to the new criteria. Searching for the Parents of a Group of Children.
If you've ever wanted to contact multiple tags at the same time, you can do so from the "People" tab. Run an advanced search and then at the bottom choose "Tag Contains". Pick the tags that you're looking for and anyone who is in any of the selected tags will appear. Not only that, but you can run a search for anyone who is not in a tag. Choose "Tag Does Not Contain" and then find a tag - such as "do not contact". Anyone who doesn't fall under that category will populate in your results.
We’ve made a pretty big update to how we handle family pictures. A few things to note here:
1. The button to add family pictures is now easier to see
2. When a picture is already on the profile, the button changes to “Update Family Pictures” (instead of making you click on the picture to update it)
3. The “Remove Family Picture” link has moved inside the “Update Family Pictures” modal instead of sitting directly underneath the family picture
4. If you delete the family picture that is currently selected, you’ll notice that it is removed immediately without needing to refresh the page
Previously, the “Notes (Completed)” column of Follow-Ups was not selected by default. Now, the Notes (Completed) column will show by default, allowing you to easily see the results of follow-ups.
You may have noticed a shiny new check in page loads automatically for you when you're checking people into events. Our brand new Check In is now out of Beta and ready for you to use. Not ready for the commitment yet? There's still a "Use the Old Check In" option under your "Check In" button for now. But please, check out our new check in - we're very proud of it.
